This Tuesday, Chelsea announced that Mykhailo Mudryk tested positive in a doping test. On its website, the London club said it had informed the versatile winger of the results, while expressing its support for the Ukraine international.
“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the Football Association recently contacted our player Mykhailo Mudryk regarding an abnormal result during a routine urine test. The club and Mykhailo fully support the FA testing program and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested. Mykhailo is adamant that he has never knowingly used any banned substances. Mykhailo and the club will now work with the relevant authorities to determine what caused this result. The club will not make any further comments”we can read in the official Blues press release.

For his part, the main person concerned spoke out on social networks. In a message published on InstagramMudryk confirmed the club’s comments. He also admits to being deeply shaken by this affair and affirms his innocence.
“I can confirm that I was informed that a sample I provided to the FA contained a prohibited substance. This came as a complete shock, as I have never knowingly used any illicit substances or broken any rules, and I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened. I know I didn’t do anything wrong and I’m hopeful that I’ll be back on the field soon. I cannot say more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but will do so as soon as possible,” wrote the former member of Shakhtar Donetsk.
