FC Barcelona is now set for Lamine Yamal. Released with an injury after a shock to his ankle this Sunday against Leganés (0-1), the young Spanish right winger has attracted all the attention since.
The fears of the Barcelona medical staff, already burned by a previous three-week unavailability last November after a blow in the same area against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League (5-2), were confirmed. In a statement published on their official website, the Blaugranas indicated that Lamine Yamal suffered a level 1 ligament injury.
Barça weakened for the match against Atlético
The Spanish vice-champion specified that his prodigy will be absent between three and four weeks. Hansi Flick will therefore have to do without Yamal for next Saturday’s crucial La Liga clash against Atlético Madrid. A high-stakes meeting, since the Colchoneros, tied on points with Barça (38), have a late match which could offer them a decisive advantage.
Uncertainty also hangs over Yamal’s availability for the start of 2025. His participation in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey against Unión Deportiva Barbastro on January 4, as well as in the semi-final of the Super Cup Spain against Athletic Bilbao on January 8 is seriously compromised. A real blow for the Culés.
