Manchester City, the crisis is serious!

Manchester City could not have experienced a worse disappointment: Pep Guardiola’s team recorded another poor performance this season by losing the derby against Man United in their lair of the Etihad Stadium, being knocked down at the very end of the match (1 -2)! Dramatic. Liverpool, however, was content with a point on Saturday against Fulham (1-1) and the Cityzens were unable to reduce their delay. Fifth in the Premier League standings, they are now 9 points behind with one more match on the clock!

The double champions of England did not sufficiently dominate and control their shock against the Red Devils. It’s simple. A headed goal from Josko Gvardiol (36th) put the locals on the right track, but Erling Haaland was never put in a position to score. The Norwegian striker, ghostly again in a big match, will take another toll… As for Kevin De Bruyne, he started the match but is still not 100% physically. We’ll have to wait a while to see the sparkling crack that he is again.

PSG-Man City in a month

Man United didn’t ask for that much. As regulation time approached, Ruben Amorim’s men were still grouped in front of their area and, after Kyle Walker lost the ball, Amad Diallo was brought down by Matheus Nunes for a penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes (88th). A few seconds later, the hard-hitting Ivorian winger, launched in depth by Lisandro Martinez, cleared Ederson to give victory to his team by sliding the ball between the legs of Gvardiol (90th).

City absolutely need to bounce back over the festive period, but Pep Guardiola’s side face Aston Villa next week, a team two points down. The terrible PSG-Man City is scheduled for January 22, 2025 at the Parc des Princes, between two poorly ranked teams in the Champions League (the 25th receives the 22nd!). United, for their part, move up to 12th position, 5 points behind their local rival and will try to follow up against Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Everything moves very quickly in football…
