Madrid has not forgotten James Rodríguez. The Colombian international, who joined Rayo Vallecano this summer, gave an interview to Marca where he notably returned to his return to the Spanish capital and the warm welcome upon his arrival. The former Real Madrid player revealed that he would have liked to stay a little longer with the residents of the Santiago Bernabéu.

When I arrived in Madrid, people remembered me with great affection. This means that I did things well and that I have a lot of affection for the madridistas (Real fans). They made me feel at home. I was able to win titles and I think I performed very well. (…) Maybe I could have stayed a year or two longer and my stats could have been a little higher. But at the time, due to certain circumstances, they didn’t let me stay and that’s what happened. But I think I could have stayed two or three more years », indicated the man who played 125 matches with Real for a total of 35 goals and 42 assists between 2014 and 2020.
