OGC Nice lost on the pitch to Union Saint-Gilloise this Thursday evening in the Europa League (1-2).

The step was too high. Weighed down by a veritable massacre, the Eaglets by Franck Haise were unable to resist the Union Saint-Gilloise this Thursday evening in Brussels. Le Gym, which only has two small points in this Europa League, will have to draw a line under qualification.

It all started badly for the Riviera club, who conceded the opener after half an hour of play on a point-blank rebound from Ivanovic after a first prodigious save from Bulka (0-1, 33rd).

Nice did not deserve

The Aiglons had the merit of revolting with their evening weapons. Established at the forefront, Guessand tied the two teams with an opportunistic goal in stoppage time in the first period (1-1, 45th+1). This was without counting on a frustrating scenario after the break.

Despite several heated situations and in particular a shot on the crossbar, Nice was finally tamed at the gong. The inevitable Ivanovic unleashed a shot into the top corner in the final seconds of the match (2-1, 90th+2). A fatal blow for a Nice team which is definitely not invited to this phase of the League.
