Victim of racist comments received on his Instagram account after Manchester City’s defeat against Juventus on Wednesday evening (0-2) in the Champions League, Kyle Walker received a nice statement of support from his club. “Manchester City strongly condemns the racist abuse directed at Kyle Walker online following last night’s match. We refuse to tolerate any form of discrimination, whether in stadiums or online. We will provide our full support to Kyle following the disgusting treatment he received.”thus indicates the Mancunian formation.
A little earlier in the afternoon, Kyle Walker had published a screenshot where we see a supporter insulting him: “brother, you can go fuck yourself‘other and die, you’re just a stupid black guy”. The English defender then added: “No one should ever suffer this type of vile, racist and threatening abuse that I have received since last night’s match online. Instagram and the authorities need to make this sort of thing stop, for the sake of everyone who suffers from online abuse. This is never acceptable. To our fans: we will continue to work as a team to do better, to progress, and to turn the situation around together”*.
