Kylian Mbappé reassured his fans this Tuesday during Real Madrid’s trip to face Atalanta. From the 10th minute, the captain of the Blues lit up the match with a high-class achievement. Served by Brahim Diaz in the area, he followed up with perfect oriented control and a cross shot from the right which left the opposing goalkeeper no chance. This goal, which can be seen in the video below, was unfortunately followed by an upset.
Mbappé slowed down in his momentum
But beyond the aesthetic, this achievement has a strong symbolism. Against Atalanta, Mbappé scored his first goal in the colors of Real Madrid last August, during the European Super Cup. This Italian team seems to bring him luck, as evidenced by this new moment of magic.
This goal is also special because it allows the Bondynois to reach the symbolic mark of 50 goals in the Champions League. He thus becomes the 9th player to reach this milestone, achieving this feat during Real Madrid’s match against Atalanta in Bergamo.
Unfortunately for him, his joy was short-lived. Shortly before half-time, Mbappé suffered an ankle injury. He had to give up his place on the field. Rodrygo picked him up. Carlo Ancelotti took no risks with his French star.
