This Tuesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to Salzburg for the sixth day of the Champions League. Luis Enrique’s men put a lot of pressure on the Austrians from the start. But as too often this season, without finding the net, since the attempts of Hakimi (10th), Ramos (10th), Lee (11th ) were not converted into a goal. The Portuguese center forward even missed an easy golden opportunity, alone against Schlager (24th).

The former Benfica player did not admit defeat and found the fault half an hour into the game, tackling the ball into the goal with his right foot (0-1, 30th). His first achievement of the season. Thanks to this, the Rouge et Bleu returned to the locker room with a short lead on the scoreboard.

PSG virtually qualified for the play-offs

In the second half, the Parisians struggled to make the break. Nuno Mendes still managed to do it with a cross shot with his left foot ending his run into the right side of the net (0-2, 72nd). Désiré Doué tripled the lead by punctuating a magnificent counter with a right shot into the top corner (0-3, 85th).

Thanks to this victory (0-3), PSG moved up to 24th place in the general standings of the Champions League, with seven points. The capital club therefore occupies virtually the last qualifying place for the play-offs. On January 22, Marquinhos and his teammates will welcome Manchester City to the Parc des Princes before traveling to Stuttgart a week later.
