Paris Saint-Germain had no room for error! The players from the capital did the job this Tuesday evening on the pitch of Red Bull Salzburg by winning with a score of 3 goals to 0 for the 6th day of the Champions League.

Gonçalo Ramos, Nuno Mendes and Désiré Doué allowed the Rouge et Bleu to take the 3 points and stay alive in this league face of the Champions League. With this success, the Parisians have 7 units and temporarily take 24th position.

For the Austrian club, it’s almost the end. With this new setback and 3 points to its credit, Red Bull Salzburg have almost said goodbye to a possible qualification for the Champions League play-offs.

Gonçalo Ramos puts Paris on the right track

Luis Enrique’s men got into the game perfectly. Between ball possession and pressing, the Rouge et Bleu put in the right ingredients to hurt the Austrian defense. However, the Ile-de-France residents failed to finish for several minutes.

After a big missed opportunity at the start of the match, Gonçalo Ramos will come out of his box and unlock his goal counter this season. Opportunistic, the Portuguese striker receives a header from Hakimi and pushes the ball with his foot into the back of the net (1-0, 30th). PSG returns to the locker room with the advantage on the scoreboard.

The Parisians accelerate at the end of the match

Returning from the locker room, Marquinhos’ partners continue in the same vein, retaining the ball but without being sharp in the last meters of the opposing team. Entering the game a few minutes after the hour mark, DĂ©sirĂ© DouĂ© offered a goal to Nuno Mendes who made the break (2-0, 72nd), before finding the net himself at the end of the match (3-0 , 85th). His first goal in Parisian colors at the best of times.

The reigning French champions will have to pull out all the stops again on the next day at the Parc des Princes against Manchester City (January 22, 2025). A success could qualify the Parisians for the play-offs.
