Just like Chelsea, Cole Palmer has been in sparkling form this season. Double scorer in the victory against Tottenham (3-4) this Monday, the versatile English striker continues to pile up goals since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in September 2023.
While the Blues have repositioned themselves among the championship leaders, currently in second place four lengths behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand, Palmer is also standing out individually. With 11 goals in 15 games, the former Citizen is hot on the heels of the Kingdom’s top scorers. Indeed, only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland, tied with 13 goals, are ahead of him in this ranking.
Palmer keeps his feet on the ground
After this fifth consecutive success in all competitions for Chelsea, coach Enzo Maresca praised Palmer’s progress. He particularly emphasized his ability to remain true to himself.
“Cole Palmer belongs to the category of best players. He loves football, he’s humble, he doesn’t do strange things and that’s what’s best for him. Today, young players, if they have a good match, they are already thinking… and then they lose their balance. Cole is still the same”analyzed the 44-year-old tactician.
