Bellingham opened the scoring against Girona by taking advantage of a clumsy clearance and sending his shot into the bottom corner. His goal was his fifth consecutive La Liga match in which he found the net; he also scored against Osasuna, Leganes, Getafe and Athletic Club.

Real Madrid have not had a player find the net in five consecutive games since Benzema did so in 2020-21. In total, the England international has scored five goals and registered five assists in all competitions, although he is yet to score in the Champions League.

Real Madrid will face Atalanta midweek in a crucial Champions League match. The Merengues currently occupy 24th place in the Champions League table and could qualify for the round of 16.
