Betinho Talentos, who is credited with discovering Brazilian icon and Al-Hilal star Neymar, died on Saturday. In mourning for his first coach, the 32-year-old shared a moving message on social media. Betinho’s cause of death has not been released.

Taking to Instagram, the former Barcelona star shared a photo of himself as a youngster, standing next to his coach, with the caption: “You’ve seen me run in the stands and you’ve made me run in stadiums all over the world. You got me into football, got my parents to take me to my first tryout. I will always be grateful to you for that! Watch over us up there. Rest in peace, Professor BETINHO. »

Neymar’s tribute

Betinho, who worked for Santos for a long time, discovered a young Neymar in 2004 and brought him to Vila Belmiro to join the Brazilian club’s youth system. The player then made his first team debut with Santos in 2009 and went on to establish himself as one of the best players in the history of the Seleçao.

The Brazil international is currently sidelined with a new injury picked up last October upon his return after a long absence due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. It now remains to be seen when he will fully return to form and finally return to the field.
