Continuation of the 15th day of Serie A this Saturday evening with an interesting duel. The Lecce club traveled to the capital to face AS Roma, now coached by the legendary Claudio Ranieri, on the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico di Roma. On one side or the other, the objective of this big poster was quite simple: to take precedence over a rival to climb the rankings. The Salentini wanted to score valuable points to move away from the red zone, while the Giallorossi needed to take points to get their heads above water after several consecutive defeats.
In a match relatively dominated by the locals, Alexis Saelemaekers opened the scoring in the first period (13th). But Nikola Krstović later equalized (40th). In the second half, Gianluca Mancini gave the Romans the lead again (59th) then Nicolo Pisilli definitively sheltered his team (66th), just like Manu Koné a few minutes later (86th). In the standings, AS Roma did well (4-1) with this first success under Ranieri and thus moved up to 12th position, while Lecce was far behind, on the outskirts of the red zone in 16th place. Next weekend, the Giallorossi will face Como away. Salentini will host Monza on the 16th day of the Italian championship.
