Monaco moves forward

Six days after its defeat in Marseille, Monaco was invited to react this Saturday as part of the 14e act of the French championship. To do this, the Principality club hosted Toulouse on its Rock. With a logical 2-0 victory as a result.

After a first act without much relief – apart from two goals scored by the young Ilenikhena – and concluded with a goalless draw, Adi Hütter’s men picked up the pace, rewarded for their efforts at the start of the second half by a goal from a set piece and an off-center header from Singo (1-0, 50e).

While the TFC seemed to rebel a little, the Monegasques were able to kill the match in money time, thanks to an opportunistic Embolo (2-0, 82e). The goal of the break and the win for an ASM which provisionally takes second place from OM, coming back five lengths from a PSG held in check the day before at Auxerre (2-2). 11 days before an advanced clash between the two teams.
