Lyon followed up with new success in Ligue 1, notably with an exceptional performance from Rayan Cherki (3-0).

After regaining a taste for victory last week against Nice, OL confirmed this Saturday during a trip to Angers. Faced with an opponent who nevertheless remained on encouraging performances, the Gones had no difficulty in imposing their law. They won without much difficulty, 3-0.

Cherki put on a show

The ease displayed by Lyon at the Raymond Kopa stadium was symbolized by Rayan Cherki. The maestro confirmed his rise in power with a goal scored, on which he did almost everything. After creating an imbalance by eliminating several opposing defenders with a series of arabesques, he found himself on the receiving end of a service from Maitland-Niles. While he collected the ball with his back to goal, he turned around in a flash to then deceive the opposing goalkeeper with a low shot.

It was the 2e Lyon’s goal, because the opening score had taken place during the first act. Nicolas Tagliafico had unlocked the score in favor of his team. The Argentine world champion placed an unstoppable header on a corner from… Cherki.

Lyon has never trembled

OL scored again for a third time at the end of the match. At the 88e minute, Georges Mikautadze made his contribution to his team’s great success. The Georgian hit the mark after a magnificent individual feat. With a hook, he knocked two opponents into the wind, before shooting Fofana with a powerful strike. Great art.

The Gones did not need to add more, as the Angevin threat was non-existent. We will barely be able to note a magnificent free kick from Farid El-Melali which failed to hit the post.

Despite its success today, Lyon remains fifth in the ranking. But Pierre Sage’s team is catching up with the leading teams and is temporarily only one point behind on the podium. It seems that the start of this team’s sluggish season is already a long way off. This will be confirmed in the European Cup next Thursday. The SCO, for its part, falls back into its wanderings. 14ewith one unit ahead of the red zone, the Dujeux gang will experience a very stressful end to the calendar year.
