Geronimo Rulli, new recruit from OM under the spell of the city and the club, is determined to help Marseille return to the heights of French football.

Olympique de Marseille recorded the arrival of several reinforcements this summer. Among them, Geronimo Rulli was particularly satisfied with having joined the Marseille ranks. The Argentine goalkeeper, recruited for 4 million euros from Ajax Amsterdam, spoke about his life in Marseille, an environment to which the child from La Plata seems to have already acclimatized well.

“Playing here, in Marseille, having more than 60,000 people pushing you, it’s a privilege”he told RMC Sportbefore adding: “If the fans are happy that I represent this club as a goalkeeper, I am the happiest. It’s rewarding, it gives me a lot of recognition and it’s additional motivation to continue giving everything. »

OM has big ambitions

Rulli seems fully fulfilled on the Canebière, a state of mind which is reflected in the performances of the South American goalkeeper, decisive several times this season.
“Every day, when I get up, I talk about it with my wife and with my son, even if he is not necessarily at an age to give his opinion. It was one of my best decisions. When Roberto De Zerbi called and contacted me during the Olympic Games, I did not hesitate to come and sign here in Marseille. The more the days pass, the happier I feel in this club and in this city”he confided.

The summer recruit from Marseille is certain that the club, champion of France for the last time in 2010, will regain its former glory:“Today, we are not the biggest French team. But we are working to become one again, that is the objective, there is no doubt about it. »
