At the start of a storm with a worrying defeat at Bayern Munich, in C1, then a draw conceded at the Parc des Princes, against FC Nantes, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to the AJ Auxerre pitch with the obligation to impose himself to silence criticism and internal tensions with Luis Enrique. The Asturian also decided to deprive himself of Dembélé and Neves to favor Ramos in the lead, with Barcola and Lee at his side.

Like Mendes’ first opportunity (3rd), the Parisians calmly dominated the start of the game and confiscated the ball. We had to wait for a huge save from Léon to prevent Ramos from opening the score with a header (18th). Launched by Mendes, Barcola finally thought it would be decisive for Ruiz, but the Spaniard, who thought he could finish from the left, was flagged offside (29th). Before a new parade by the AJA goalkeeper in front of Mendes (33rd).

King Leo saved the AJA

Annoyed by a great Léon, the Parisians tried to break the deadlock after the break by being more offensive, but once again, Léon was there to stop Ramos’ strike, then Hakimi (49th and 56th). Intractable, the Burgundian goalkeeper once again pulled out all the stops in a face-off in front (77th). And for their part, the Auxerres gained in confidence and narrowly missed surprising Donnarumma (58th), before a good save from the Italian (70th). Paris’ best opportunity remained a curling shot from Vitinha on the crossbar… (69th).

And after two new exceptional saves at the end of the match for Léon, who made a total of 11 saves (90th+2, 90th+5), PSG failed to realize their opportunities and could have come close to disaster. In the standings, this new drawn result changes nothing for the Parisians, who remain eight points ahead of OM, Lille and Monaco. But he does not reassure at all before the next deadlines and in particular in C1, in Salzburg, Tuesday. For its part, Auxerre is 8th, but takes an important point against PSG and that will count at the end of the season.
