Faced with a worrying series of injuries this season, Real Madrid took an innovative initiative to strengthen its squad, without recruiting new players. The Madrid club announced the arrival of Itziar González de Arriba, renowned nutritionist and specialist in physiogenomics. Already a collaborator of Dani Carvajal, she is now officially integrated into the Merengues staff.

An expert in reducing injuries

In the midst of a roster crisis, with notable absences like those of Vinicius Jr., Camavinga, and MilitĂŁo, Real Madrid is banking on food science and genetics to reduce the risk of injuries. An expert in physiogenomics, a discipline that analyzes how nutrients affect genes and tissue regeneration, Itziar González de Arriba will work with Antonio Pintus, the club’s historic physical trainer. Its main role will be to prevent muscle injuries and improve players’ recovery.

Although his arrival will not allow goals to be scored, it could prove decisive in stabilizing a group strongly impacted by physical problems. With ambitious objectives in La Liga and the Champions League, this strategic reinforcement illustrates Real Madrid’s commitment to a global approach to performance.
