Is the appointment of Zinédine Zidane as coach of the France team after the 2026 World Cup at stake? Installed at the head of the FFF since June 2023 after the ouster of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo is the favorite in the next presidential election scheduled for December 10 and 11. Pierre Samsonoff, who calls himself representative of “football from below”is his opponent. It is the federation executive committee which will choose the successor to Didier Deschamps, whose lease runs until the 2026 World Cup in North America.
“Zizou” is not certain of being the next coach of the Blues, as indicated by Jamel Sandjak, the president of the Paris-Île de France League, interviewed on RMC in theAfter Foot Monday.
“There is no one (other than Le Graët)No. There are people who don’t want to. We have time to talk, don’t pull worms from my nose today”he responded to the insistence of Daniel Riolo, therefore not wishing to give the name of the leader who was reluctant to see Zidane lead the French selection.
Who doesn’t want Zidane?
In the executive committee led by the president of the FFF Philippe Diallo, we find the vice-president Jean-Michel Aulas, the director of the LFP Vincent Labrune, the former players Laura Georges and Aline Riera as well as Marc Keller and league presidents . Aulas and Keller could totally take the
lead at the request of Diallo to choose another coach as successor to “La Dèche”. This was the case when Thierry Henry was appointed last year.
Jamel Sandjak resigned from the executive committee in February 2023. After being on the “NGL” list, he then slammed the door, noting “powerlessness” of the FFF after an audit damning the president. He believes that Philippe Diallo, former treasurer of the FFF, is not sufficiently connected to amateur football to remain at the head of the 3F and thus supports Pierre Samsonoff.
