Real Madrid recorded their second defeat this season in La Liga, losing against Athletic Club (2-1). While Kylian Mbappé missed another penalty, Federico Valverde lost the ball at the start of the action leading to Athletic’s second goal (80th). The 26-year-old midfielder addressed his teammates and Real Madrid fans on his social media to apologize for his mistake after the match.

Today was a hard blow, but I take responsibility, I defend myself and I apologize. For my teammates and the supporters. I know it’s football and these are things that can happen, but they are not foreign to me and I didn’t want to stop speaking out for the mistake I made. There is still a long way to go, a lot of competition and I am sure there will be a lot of happiness. THANKS », Said the Uruguay international, who was supported by his teammates in the comments.
