Bundesliga TV rights sold for more than a billion euros

The Bundesliga is doing well and it’s not going to stop anytime soon. For the third consecutive call for tenders, the German football league announced that it had sold its TV rights above one billion euros, as for the periods 2017-2021 and 2021-2025. It will remain to market the rights internationally soon.

For this 2025-2029 cycle, Sky Sport Germany obtains 80% of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches exclusively, the rest being recovered by DAZN. For this, the broadcasters paid 4.484 billion euros, or 1.121 billion euros per season. This is a very slight increase compared to the current period (€1.10 billion per season, or €4.40 billion over 4 years).
