Paris Saint-Germain is going through an internal storm. After disappointing results in the Champions League and Ligue 1 (defeat against Bayern, draw against Nantes), growing tensions between Luis Enrique and his locker room came to light. Several players, notably Presnel Kimpembe, Ousmane Dembélé, and Randal Kolo-Muani, openly contest the management of the Spanish coach. Described as authoritarian, not open to discussion and hungry for light, Luis Enrique annoys with his tactical approach and his lack of dialogue.

Some players complain that they are just “fictitious players manipulated by a controller”, criticizing his lack of work on defensive transitions and set pieces. Tensions even reach sports director Luis Campos, with whom the relationship has deteriorated.

Luis Enrique ready to clean up

Luis Enrique, well aware of the ongoing rebellion, adopts a posture of firmness. According to The Teamthe coach is carefully monitoring the media coverage of the situation and has decided to take drastic measures. Convinced of benefiting from the support of management, he has already dismissed certain rebellious players: Dembélé on the bench, Kolo-Muani off the field and Kimpembe in the stands during the last matches. In private, Luis Enrique would have assured that he wanted to “clean up” and sanction the protesters, announcing a standoff of which he is a notorious follower.
