The Havre Athletic Club has made a surprising decision: to prohibit access to the stadium to a young supporter aged only 6 years old. During the match against the Stade de Reims on November 10, the child was filmed throwing paper cups and pieces of paper onto the pitch at the Océane stadium.
Although these “projectiles” did not hit anyone or disrupt the match, the club decided to apply a two-month commercial ban for the child and a similar sanction for his uncle, who accompanied him.
A criticized but regulatory decision
According to the HAC, the sanction arises from the rule which does not distinguish the behavior of adults from that of children in the stadiums. An internal source at the club explained: “We need to show that the stadium is a place for celebration, not a place to let off steam. »
The parents of the young supporter were received by the club and informed of the decision, which they did not contest. This episode, although comical, raises questions about the strict application of regulations in such specific cases.
