Salah’s situation at Liverpool is dire as the Reds icon is set to see his contract expire in the summer of 2025, and the Premier League side are yet to offer the Egyptian an extension. As such, a potential departure has become a likely option for the Reds’ third-highest scorer in history, who scored his 13th goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Manchester City.
According to L’Equipe, Salah has opened the door to a move to Paris next summer after actively engaging in discussions with the reigning French champions. The Ile-de-France residents are desperate to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappé, who left the club this summer to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
PSG monitors Salah
After unsuccessfully trying to recruit Jadon Sancho (Manchester United) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Naples) this summer, Paris Saint-Germain is still looking for a winger. The Ligue 1 side have also shown interest in Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao). Salah has been a PSG target in the past, and next summer will likely be their best chance to land the prolific Liverpool winger.
If Liverpool do not extend Salah’s contract before the start of the new year, which seems unlikely, the Egyptian will be entering the final six months of his contract and as such he will be open to pre-contract negotiations with a another club to prepare for a summer transfer.
