Kylian Mbappé is doing much better. Barely four days after Real Madrid’s defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday evening in the Champions League, with a missed penalty by the French superstar, the latter shook the nets for a second La Liga match in a row on Sunday when the from Getafe (2-0) at Bernabéu. Rather on the legs, the number 9 of the Merengues doubled the lead with a perfectly placed shot from outside the area (38th).
A few minutes earlier, Real had opened the scoring but it was Jude Bellingham who took the penalty after Allan Nyom collided with Antonio Rüdiger. The TV production focused on the face of Mbappé, who did not take the penalty in the absence of Vinicius (victim of a muscle injury). However, according to Sergio Quirante’s journalist, the French international was in charge of the penalty kicks this Sunday in the absence of “Vini” and therefore asked Bellingham to take charge of the penalty.
Mbappé dangerous as always
Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with the performance of the captain of the France team after the meeting at a press conference:
“Mbappé played very well, he was active, dangerous as always. He scored a very important goal to better control the match, he created chances in the second half, that’s what we expected of him.”
Physically sharp and incisive with the ball (much more than in certain catastrophic sequences in recent weeks), the top scorer in PSG history missed two good opportunities in the second half. The “Kyks” will try to carry its team during the next outings of the Spanish and European champion: against Bilbao and Girona next Wednesday and Saturday, then against Atalanta in the Champions League. Real has returned to within one point of Barça at the top of La Liga but is only 24th in the C1 standings.
