Nelson Dida, one of the big names of AC Milan, complimented his successor in the Rossonerra cage, the Frenchman Mike Maignan.
Dida insists the French goalkeeper will prove he is the best in the world and had no doubts about his abilities.
“Maignan must stay in Milan”
The former Auriverde international told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I have no doubts about Mike because I have trained him and I am convinced that he will become the best in the world. He is very strong between the posts and the play of (Paulo) Fonseca, which involves him even more, will improve his skill with his feet. »
And when asked if the former Lille player should return to the seven-time European champions, Dida confided: “An extension? He must stay by force of circumstances. We can’t lose him! »
Dida also spoke about the new cycle of the Rossoneri under the leadership of Fonseca: “The team is assimilating its game and it seems to me that the players will attack the opponents higher. Fonseca’s work is visible. The challenge against Atalanta? It will be important to confirm that the team is growing. I continue to support Milan to go far. It will be difficult against Atalanta, but I am confident.”
