Arsenal could have found their new sporting director. Roberto Olabe, Real Sociedad’s sporting director and project architect, is said to be in advanced negotiations with the Gunners to succeed Edu, who left the role this month. The Spanish leader has even already planned to leave the Basque Country at the end of the season, potentially to join north London.
At 57, he would thus find his compatriot Mikel Arteta in sports management among the residents of the Emirates Stadium. Big favorite to become the new sporting director of the London team, he would therefore leave Sociedad after eight years of good and loyal service at the head of recruitment.
