Nothing is going well in Paris anymore. For the third time in five games, the capital team lost in the Champions League. Tuesday evening, she gave in quite logically against Bayern (0-1) at the Allianz Arena. A setback for which Luis Enrique chose to take responsibility.
In his post-match reaction, speaking to broadcaster Canal+, the Parisian coach indicated that he was ready to take responsibility for this failure: “If there’s anyone to blame, it’s me. And I accept all criticism. There is no problem.”
Luis Enrique doesn’t hold a grudge against Safonov
At the final whistle, captain Marquinhos railed against the refereeing. A posture which suggests that Parisians are always looking for excuses after the poor performances suffered.
“No, I don’t agree,” proclaimed Luis Enrique. We are in a very interesting project, based on the future. We showed it in several matches that we have the level. And when we lose, we play attacking football.”
The Spanish coach also refused to blame Matvey Safonov for his failed intervention on the only conceded goal:
“The responsibility is global, of the whole team not just of one player. In good things or bad. We must not look for a culprit or a hero when we win. A strong choice to have aligned him? I already answered the question.”
