Guti, one of the icons of Real Madrid, is not interested in the position of coach of Casstilla. With Raul under pressure, Guti was asked if he would be willing to succeed him as head of Real’s reserve team. The person concerned responded in the negative.
“I was lucky enough to be at Castilla and I left… If I had stayed another year in the under-19s, that was the time when Santi Solari was going to be promoted to the first team”he declared on El Chiringuito.
Guti doesn’t want to go back
“I would say no to Castilla. This step is complete for me. Coaching Real Madrid right now? It’s over. This is reality, he asked. I wouldn’t take charge of Castilla now. For me, it wouldn’t be a challenge to take the reins of Castilla now. Returning to the reserve team would not be a challenge for me.”
Guti took care of Real’s youth teams between 2013 and 2018. He then worked as assistant coach at Besiktas Istanbul. Finally, for a year, he led the Almeria first team.
