Clearly, Roberto De Zerbi is struggling to convince as Marseille coach despite overall acceptable results. Criticism against him is increasing at the moment.
After Marc Libbra, it was the turn of another former club player to attack the Italian technician, in the person of Christophe Dugarry. Speaking on RMC Sport on Monday, the latter said he was cautious about what the former Brighton manager was proposing.
“De Zerbi has 8 months to succeed”
“I don’t know if I will be sufficiently lenient with the OM coach. For me, De Zerbi has no excuses. He’s not playing Europe, so he has the whole week to train with his group! I don’t know if we need to give him 8 months to get there, but after 8 months we need to see results. He has the players for it and he has the time to work”he declared.
The 98 world champion then concluded by saying that he looks forward to Marseille being as successful at home as they are away. “They were solid in the storm, but what I want to see is the home game. We can compare him to Guardiola or Deschamps, but I will be uncompromising. And for the moment, we are far from the goal.”
