This Saturday, Tottenham crushed Manchester City in a tough Etihad Stadium (0-4). A meeting during which Guglielmo Vicario was brilliant in goal for Spurs. However, the player did not play with all of his physical resources. Indeed, this Monday, the Italian goalkeeper underwent successful surgery following a fracture of his right ankle. As the former Monza goalkeeper confided on his social networks, he was already playing with this injury during the match against the Skyblues this weekend.

I played 60 minutes at the Etihad with a broken bone in my ankle, giving absolutely everything I had for the team. Unfortunately there was no way around it, I needed an operation. I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to help the team for a while. A huge thank you to the doctors and staff. The surgery went well, and starting tomorrow I will work hard to come back stronger, fitter and ready to give my all for you again. Thanks Spurs fans for all the love. See you soon on the ground.» The duration of his absence has not yet been revealed by the London club.
