It’s the match of the evening in Ligue 1! This Sunday evening, as part of the 12th day of the French championship, OGC Nice won in front of its home crowd against RC Strasbourg with a score of 2 goals to 1.

A success acquired with pain thanks to goals from Melvin Bard and Abakar Sylla against his side after returning from the locker room.

A success which allows Franck Haise’s men to steal fifth place in the standings from Olympique Lyonnais with 20 points on the clock.

On the other side, RC Strasbourg continues with a third loss in a row in the championship and finds itself in 11th position with 13 units. The RCSA will have to raise its head during the next day on the pitch of the Stade Brestois while the Niçois will go to the Groupama Stadium to challenge the Gones.

A stunning Nice!

It was the match of the evening in Ligue 1. In front of their home crowd, the Haise players had the objective of shining and scoring valuable points at the top of the table. However, the evening started very badly for the OGC.

Enterprising from the first minutes, Strasbourg will hurt. Served by Lemarechal on the edge of the area, Dylan Bakwa perfectly deceives Marcin Bulka with a left-footed shot which he lodged in the small left net of the Polish goalkeeper (1-0.20).

Surprised, the Aiglons reacted after returning from the locker room thanks to a goal from Melvin Bard. The 26-year-old left back was perfectly found deep behind the Strasbourg defense before deceiving Djordje Petokovic with his left foot (1-1, 54th).

Only a few moments later, the RCSA will crack again. But this time, it was Abakar Sylla who penalized his own team by missing his back pass to Petkovic. The Ivorian defender propels the ball with his right foot into the back of his own net (2-1, 62nd).

Relieved and confident, the Niçois managed the end of the match perfectly in order to glean the victory and the three points.
