It’s a failure. The American club Los Angeles FC, in which the 2018 French world champions play – goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and center forward Olivier Giroud – will not play a third consecutive Conference final of the North American Championship, dominated by the Seattle Sounders at home (1-2, ap), on the night of Saturday to Sunday, in the semi-finals of the Major Soccer League (MLS).
The California franchise, which topped the Western Conference, opened the scoring with Ryan Hollingshead (50th minute) before giving in due to an own goal from Maxime Chanot (59th) and a pivotal strike from Jordan Morris during the second period of overtime (109th).
Olivier Giroud (38), left the field in the 70th minute, ended his first season in MLS with a very modest record: 2 goals in 19 matches, none in the Championship.
