Manchester City striker Erling Haaland had complimentary words for his coach, Pep Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola has just extended his contract at Manchester City for two years. Good news, and which delighted everyone at the Etihad Stadium. And this is mainly the case of Erling Haaland, who reached a new dimension under his leadership.

“Guardiola is calm, began by telling Haaland on Sky Sports about his coach. We just have to do our best because he is very demanding. He asks us to give the best of ourselves in every training session, in every match and that’s what we have to do. Let’s focus on today’s training, tomorrow’s training and the match. Pep has all my confidence. And if he tells me something, I better do it because at the end of the day, he knows what’s best.”.

Haaland believes in a Man City revival

The Norwegian then admitted that he has progressed a lot with Guardiola as coach. “He is exactly what I expected from him. He’s the best manager in the world and I think we all know that. And he’s probably the best that ever lived on earth. I expected a lot from him and he gave me his best every second. I’m very happy and it shows when I play. He always wants perfection, but perfection doesn’t exist. What matters is winning trophies.”

And as for the current bad series (no victory in five matches), Haaland wanted to put things into perspective. He is certain of his team’s upcoming rebound. “We lost four times in a row and that’s not normal at a club like this. It hurts, of course. The motivation is greater than ever to play on Saturday, win the match and get back on track. I think it’s important to let go. It’s the hardest thing, even in life, to let things go, to be sad and everything else. But we have to focus on the next game.” The next match will be Saturday at home against Tottenham.
