Real Madrid seems determined to continue piling on the stars. According to the latest rumors, the Madrid club’s new fad is none other than Rodri. Something all the more understandable, given that the Manchester City defensive midfielder has established himself as an essential figure in world football in recent years.
A true reference to his position, whether with Spain or in the citizen collective, the 2024 European champion also rose to the roof of the world by winning the Ballon d’Or in October. The last recipient of the supreme distinction, out until the end of the season, due to a rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee, suggested in a recent interview for Spanish radio Cadena Ser, that he was not insensitive to the possible interest of Real.
Rodri flattered by Madrid sirens
“When Real Madrid calls you, the best club in history and the most successful… it makes you proud and you must always listen. It’s an honor, you should always pay attention to it,” confided the 28-year-old, under contract until June 2027.
The Rodri track seems all the more plausible as it fits into the recent revelations of Relevo regarding a Madrid project aimed at placing more emphasis on Spanish players. Currently, Real’s squad has five local players: Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, Jesús Vallejo, Fran Garcia and Dani Ceballos.
