Before a crucial match against Bayern Munich – which has just won against Augsburg – for the continuation of its adventure in the Champions League, PSG had to perform against Toulouse, at the Parc des Princes. In a reshuffled formation, with Safonov, Skriniar, Zague, Doué and Asensio in particular, the Parisians could regain their lead at the top of the standings after Monaco’s victory against Brest this Friday (3-2). It didn’t take long for PSG to appear dangerous, with a backheel from Beraldo which almost deceived Restes (7th).

But despite a great opportunity from Zaire-Emery (22nd), the match could not get going and lacked intensity in the first period. We then had to wait for a very good cross from Hakimi for Neves to see the match come alive and the opening score, with a nice low strike which surprised Restes (1-0, 35th). Well helped by the Téfécé bloc who did not want to take any risks and reveal themselves, PSG could lead quietly in front of their audience, without forcing.

PSG got scared

Hakimi, still having a good evening, tried to get the break with a long shot, but Restes was vigilant (47th). Better at the start of the half, Doué was able to find Asensio, blocked, then Zaire-Emery to finally conclude. But the Spaniard was ultimately in an offside position and the goal was therefore refused (54th). Tef even had the opportunities to come back through Aboukhlal, blocked at the last minute by Zaire-Emery (69th), then Babicka, who completely missed the target (72nd).

But finally, after a poor dismissal from the Toulouse defense, Beraldo was able to resume and finally make the break at the best of times (2-0, 85th). Before Toulouse cracked on a quality counter-attack, perfectly concluded by Vitinha (3-0, 90th + 3). Enough to ensure a quiet end to the match, after a more tense end to the second half and above all a six-point advantage in the standings over AS Monaco. A message sent before the clash against Bayern Munich, this week in C1.
