FM: Stephen Curry, Antonio Rüdiger, Teddy Rinner all these great athletes are sponsored by Under Armour. How does it feel to be part of the Under Armor family alongside these big names in sport?
Sacha Boey : it’s a great pride, I hope it will last a very long time. I am very happy to join the Under Armor family.
FM: being coached by Vincent Kompany, a former great defender, does that help you progress defensively?
SB : obviously, on the truly individual aspect, he helps me a lot. Well already, he speaks my language so that helps and he gives me a lot of advice. When a former great defender like him gives you advice, you obviously listen more.
FM: for you, what are the qualities that a full-back must have in modern football?
SB : a modern full-back must be complete, he must know how to both defend and attack. He also needs to be able to play in the middle sometimes to free up space for his winger. In fact, today, a full-back must know how to do practically everything.

FM: at Bayern, there are quite a few French players, Coman, Upamecano, Tel etc. Did it make your integration in Bavaria easier?
SB : of course, without them, it would have been much more complicated, I think. When I arrived at Bayern, I didn’t speak German at all so that obviously helped me. I was lucky to know Mathys Tel, because I trained with him in Rennes so there was a connection that was created more easily.
FM: this summer Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich. He made a big start to the season with an express adaptation, did you expect such a debut from him?
SB : no not at all, but I knew his qualities, I was with him in the France Espoirs team. I knew he was a very good player, but I thought it was going to take him more time to adapt. He amazed me, because his adaptation was very quick.
FM: you played in Ligue 1 with Rennes and Dijon and in the Bundesliga with Bayern of course, as a defender what do you think is the most complicated championship?
SB : Ligue 1 is too hard. Because the eccentrics you play against are eccentrics who are there to stare at you and who are all going fast so that means you have to be concentrated the whole match. In the Bundesliga it’s different, for example a player like me can manage his match with his speed. In Ligue 1, I couldn’t do that.

FM: In a few days, Bayern Munich will host PSG in the Champions League. Do you think you have the weapons to beat the current PSG?
SB : yes, I even think that we have all the weapons to beat any team in Europe. I hope we win anyway.
FM: Last year was a complicated season for Bayern Munich with 0 titles, this year, do you think you can go for several titles?
SB : I am confident this year for the championship, the Champions League, etc. We will try to take everything. The objective is to take as many titles as possible.
FM: Does the French team remain in the back of your mind?
SB : yes, the French team is definitely present in the back of my mind and we will do everything to get there.
