Gary Neville has not finished railing against his former team, Manchester United. As Ruben Amorim prepares to start on the bench of the Red Devils, succeeding Erik Ten Hag and the interim of Ruud Van Nistelrooy, the ex-English defender sent a sharp message to Marcus Rashford and Casemiro.
The former United captain pointed the finger at the two players’ escapades in the United States during the November international break. Rashford was seen Monday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York to watch an NBA game between the Knicks and the Nets, while Casemiro enjoyed some family time at Disneyland in Orlando.
Neville denounces lack of professionalism
“Professionalism, taking care of your body and making sure you are best prepared for the next training session, is essential for every decision you make during the season”explained Neville in comments relayed by Sky Bet.
According to him, this attitude is all the more worrying for Casemiro, because of his age. “You talk about the choice of location, the distance to fly, the time difference, the stiffness problems due to a 12-hour flight… This concerns Casemiro more than Rashford, because he is 30 years old. We’ll say he’ll struggle this weekend because he’s been away. They chose this international break. If you’re talking about minor details to be as professional as possible and as prepared as possible for a workout on a Monday evening, this is not the best choice of venue”he concluded.
