Having difficulty at the back this season, OM are considering recruiting a Lensois player.

With their 15 goals conceded in 11 days of the championship, including seven in the last three days alone, the Marseillais are struggling to be reassuring and consistent defensively this season. However, resources were put in place during the off-season to strengthen the rearguard axis, with the recruitment of Lilian Brassier and Derek Cornelius.

If Leonardo Balerdi, promoted to captain, is an essential figure, a strangely less enviable fate has been reserved for Chancel Mbemba, who has become persona non grata and completely ousted from Roberto De Zerbi’s group, but also for a Bamo Méïté on whom OM however seemed to count at the start of the exercise. So much so that the Olympians would seek to strengthen their central hinge this winter.

A versatile defender at 5 million euros

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Lensois Abdukodir Khusanov would have caught the eye of the Marseille staff. The young 20-year-old Uzbek international showed himself to his advantage with the Sang et Or it is true, in particular to replace Kevin Danso who was absent for a long time after his aborted transfer to Roma for medical reasons.

Linked to Racing until June 2027, the former Minsk player is valued at 5 million euros, a reasonable envelope that OM seems able to offer to protect their backs in the coming weeks. Note that Abdukodir Khusanov will not be featured between Lens and Marseille next Saturday at Bollaert, the person concerned being suspended for a red card received against PSG.
