When he arrived from FC Porto in the summer of 2022, Chancel Mbemba quickly made his mark at Olympique de Marseille, so much so that the central defender became a centerpiece of the team. Reinstated in the group, but knowing that he is no longer part of the plans, Chancel Mbemba hopes to leave as quickly as possible.

For now, the defender is focusing on his national team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. On Saturday, Mbemba and his team lost at the very end of the match (1-0) against Guinea, during the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations. A first defeat without consequences for a DRC still clinging to its place leader of group H after five matches, with three points ahead of his tormentor of the evening.
