The race for the presidency of the FFF is on. The only two eligible candidates are now known, they are Philippe Diallo, the outgoing president and Pierre Samsonoff, former general director of the Amateur Football League. In this election, Didier Deschamps, the coach of the France team, decided not to take sides with either of the two candidates in the running to become his future superior. If he has become quite close to the current boss of French football, Samsonoff has the support of Noël le Graet, Diallo’s predecessor, and close to Deschamps.
“I am not going to ask Didier for any public support during this campaign. Because this could put him in a delicate situation. I am his employer and he is subject to a duty of confidentiality”declared Philippe Diallo. According to information from The Teamthe Blues coach has in any case good relations with the lists and the support of the two involved protagonists. Whether Diallo remains in office, or whether Samsonoff replaces him, the position of “DD” is, whatever happens, not threatened by this election which will deliver its verdict on December 14.
