England performed well against Ireland to return to the elite of the League of Nations this Sunday at Wembley (5-0). Same thing for Norway against Kazakhstan (5-0).

In London, however, we had to wait for the expulsion of Scales and a penalty converted by Kane (53rd) to launch the machine at the Three Lions. Gordon (56e) and Gallagher (58e) having struck in turn in the next five minutes to discourage the Irish.

Bowen (76e) and Harwood-Bellis, for his first cape (79e), completed the English work and allowed Lee Carsley’s men to maintain the upper hand over a victorious Greek team in Finland at the same time (0-2). Greeks who will therefore have to play a play-off against a third in League A to validate their promotion.

In Oslo, Norway was able to count on the inevitable Haaland, author of a hat-trick (23e37e71e), to get the best of the overwhelmed Kazakhs – Sorloth (41e) and Nusa (76e) who also participated in the festival.

A card for a decisive victory since the Norwegians thus beat the Austrians, held in check at the same time by Slovenia (1-1) and dispossessed of their leadership. Norway has never before played in League A in the Nations League.
