Things have been going from bad to worse for the Brazilian since he joined the Old Trafford club from Ajax in a €95 million deal in 2022. His former manager, Erik ten Hag, was appointed to United just weeks before the transfer, with the Dutchman telling the club the winger would be worth every penny.

But Antony did not live up to his expectations. Over the summer, he spoke to English media about his intention to come back stronger. “ Yes, yes, they will see – it’s written in my objectives – more work with the right foot, score more goals and assists”he declared via MEN. “ I will show you these notes one day and you will see the results this season.”

But so far this season, Antony has only scored one goal, in United’s 7-0 win over Barnsley in the League Cup. He played just 27 minutes of the Premier League, losing his place to Amad Diallo. And now a report from UtdDistrict suggests he is closing in on a departure.

Their article says: “ UtdDistrict understands that Antony is currently unhappy with his situation at Old Trafford and is keen to speak with the club to understand his role going forward. Although the Brazilian remains dedicated to the team, he is unhappy with his current playing time and will look for an exit if the situation does not change. »

Amorim will separate from Antony

United manager Ruben Amorim is prepared to part ways with several United players as early as January, with Antony one of them linked with a loan move.

Indeed, TEAMtalk claimed that Amorim already knows which players will not play in the future. He said that Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Victor Lindelof and Antony will not have a place in his team.
