For more than two seasons, William Saliba has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League, even in the world. Today, the former Marseillais even enjoys the trust of Didier Deschamps.
The Blues coach has in fact chosen to favor him over Ibrahima Konaté to form the central hinge with Dayot Upamecano during Euro 2024. And according to rumors, Saliba’s rise would be such that Real Madrid would consider now to recruit him, to the point of making him one of his priorities for the 2025 summer transfer window.
Arsenal under pressure
For his part, Saliba says he is happy at Arsenal, where he is pursuing his dream of winning the Gunners’ first English championship title since 2004. However, despite his status as an indestructible player (15 starts in as many matches) and leader in the London locker room, the 2022 world vice-champion does not seem indifferent to the interest of the Madrid giant, according to The 10 Sports.
However, the Bondynois prefers not to get excited before receiving a concrete proposal from the Merengue club. A situation which is nevertheless beginning to worry Arsenal management, which has already started discussions with the defender to extend his contract, currently valid until June 2027.
