Stade Rennais conceded a bitter setback at home to Toulouse this Sunday at home (0-2). Montpellier at the same time revived against Brest (3-1). Same thing for Reims in Le Havre (0-3).

Severely beaten in Auxerre last week (4-0), the Rennais were unable to move forward at Roazhon Park this Sunday as part of the 11e day of Ligue 1, under the eyes of their probable future coach Jorge Sampaoli.

Too quickly surprised by King (14e) and Donnum (23e), the Bretons collapsed in front of their supporters (0-2), unable to react as expected. Thus beaten for the sixth time this season, Stade Rennais continues to sink, 13e
of the elite with a small point lead over the red zone only.

Montpellier rebounds, Le Havre relapses

A red zone in which Le Havre sinks, dominated at home by a Stade de Reims which had to bounce back after three defeats in a row. Diakite (15e), Nakamura (21e) and Ito (57e) are the architects of this Champagne success which gives the club sixth place, three lengths from the podium. A result synonymous with a relapse for the HAC, which remained on a victory acquired at the expense of Montpellier.

In the standings, the Normans, penultimate in Ligue 1, only have nine points on the clock, two more than the red lantern from Montpellier, who finally restarted the machine today, after an endless series of five losses. The MHSC, now coached by Jean-Louis Gasset, has reassured itself somewhat to the detriment of Brest (3-1), buoyed by goals from Nordin (4e on penalty), Khazri (12e) and Coulibaly (85e) when Martin alone struck for SB29 (50e), confined to 12e elite level.
