Manchester United will move into a new era in a few hours with the official taking up of their new coach, Portuguese strategist Ruben Amorin. Ruud van Nistelrooy thus ends his mission with a great victory against Leicester (3-0), Sunday in the Premier League (11th day), in order to move the Red Devils up to 13th position in the English championship standings, four points from the top 5 ( virtually qualifying for the next Champions League).

Arriving as assistant coach to Erik ten Hag, the former emblematic scorer of Man United has taken over since the sidelining of his Dutch compatriot two weeks ago, in the wake of a 4th defeat in PL against West Ham (2-1). Since then, with Ruud on the bench, United offered an offensive festival in the EFL Cup against Leicester (5-2), achieved a draw in the clash against Chelsea (1-1), won for the first time in the Europa League against at Paok (2-0) and therefore won 3-0 against these same Foxes.

Van Nistelrooy’s MU worn by Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes largely changed the encounter with his talent. The Portuguese playmaker opened the scoring with a perfect curling shot after an inspired backheel from Amad Diallo (17th). Receiving a cross from Noussair Mazraoui, Bruno Fernandes forced Victor Kristiansen to the csc (38th). At the end of the match, offset by the “Magnifico” of Old Trafford, Alejandro Garnacho also scored with a superb curling shot (82nd).

With Amorim in charge, United will return to the league at Ipswich, before facing Bodo/Glimt in the European Cup and Everton at Old Trafford. A clash will be closely followed on December 4, Arsenal-Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
