“It’s better for everyone”. This sentence repeated by Didier Deschamps at a press conference to justify the non-selection of Kylian Mbappé did not give rise to further details. So it’s been an interpretation fair since yesterday afternoon. Between those who think that Mbappé preferred to skip this new gathering, those who think that Deschamps was forced to this choice or those who see this as a sanction, opinions are divided. The French media have tried to find the real reason for this choice, but it is perhaps really to the credit of Didier Deschamps. What if Mbappé’s non-selection was a response to the previous truce? As a reminder, Deschamps explained that the striker was injured, and not 100%, before the latter started three days later with Real Madrid.

On the antenna of RMCcolumnist Daniel Riolo clearly thinks that Deschamps is taking revenge on his player. “We may have forgotten it but last time, Mbappé made him look like an idiot. Deschamps came in front of the microphones to say that Mbappé was a little injured. Three days later, he started with Real Madrid and he gave him a degrading story. (…) It’s crystal clear: Deschamps screws the thing, he has always thought like that and reasoned in terms of a group. It’s very good what he did. He could have warned him yesterday or the day before yesterday but I think he didn’t want it to leak.”he explained.
