Continuation of the 10th day of the Premier League and new clash between two great teams. Very irregular, Tottenham has already suffered four defeats in the league this season, where Aston Villa has only failed once, against Arsenal (0-2) on the second day. For both clubs, a victory was therefore necessary this afternoon to stay in the race, for Europe on one side and the podium on the other. After a few chances, Spurs let go and conceded the opener after half an hour of play. On a corner hit by Lucas Digne, Morgan Rogers managed to follow the ball and send it into the back of the net (32nd, 0-1). The first period was logically dominated by the men of Unai Emery, who celebrates his 53rd birthday this Sunday, against a disappointing Tottenham.

Upon returning from the locker room, Ange Postecoglou’s speech to his players probably had an effect. From the 48th minute of play, Brennan Johnson took a cross from Heung-Min Son and allowed his team to get back on track (48th, 1-1). Subsequently, Dominic Solanke lobbed the opposing goalkeeper and made the difference for his team (75th, 2-1). The player even scored a double some time later (79th, 3-1). During added time, James Maddison came to definitively extinguish the last opposing hopes thanks to a superb direct free kick (96th, 4-1). Great operation for Tottenham who are now in 7th place in the Championship with 16 points. Aston Villa, for its part, moved to 5th position with 18 points.
