The 9th day of the Bundesliga continued this Sunday with a poster pitting Gladbach against Werder Bremen. Unfortunately for the visitors, this meeting quickly turned into a correction for the residents of Borussia-Park. Ideally launched by Alassane Plea (1-0, 11th), the Poulains then took advantage of an own goal from Marco Friedl to make the break (2-0, 12th). Stunned, Werder cracked once again just before the break when former Brest player Franck Honorat found the fault (3-0, 45th).
Returning from the locker room, new arrival Kevin Stöger also took part in his team’s offensive festival (4-0, 66th). If Keke Maximilian Topp, who had just entered the game, reduced the score (4-1, 75th), the Bremen players finally finished this meeting with ten men after the expulsion of Mitchell-Elijah Weiser (82nd) and therefore conceded a heavy setback (1-4). In the standings, Gladbach moved up to 9th place, just ahead of their opponent of the day.
