Real haven’t had the best midfield this season, with the reigning La Liga champions struggling early in the campaign. Carlo Ancelotti failed to find the right balance in midfield following the departure of Toni Kroos. The Whites saw their midfield overwhelmed by Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona last week and president Florentino Perez and Ancelotti want to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Real are not convinced with Tchouameni in midfield this season and have made him the first player to sell so they can bring in another option, claims Relevo. It was reported on Wednesday that the Champions League holders were also considering signing a big name in Rodri, who won the Ballon d’Or on Monday.

Rodri with Vini?

Despite the interest from the Spanish capital, Rodri might not be very keen on joining Madrid for two major reasons. Firstly, due to his history with Atlético Madrid, where although he only played one season, he became a fan favorite and said he loved his time with the Rojiblancos. The second reason is Real Madrid’s controversial reaction to their Ballon d’Or win over Vinicius Junior on Monday, as a number of Los Blancos players and legends appeared to disrespect the Spaniard’s skills.

The Relevo report also stated that the club and Ancelotti would review the performances of Tchouameni and fellow French international Eduardo Camavinga over the coming months before deciding what the future holds for their midfielders.
